18" MW Beim Kloster Schontal Dressage or VSD Saddle
The saddle:
This is a high quality, black leather dressage or (very slightly dressage) saddle imported from Germany from the Beim Kloster Schontal saddlery. This saddlery later became Lemetex from Switzerland, which is also the saddlery that makes Courbette saddles for the American market. This is a well made, high quality saddle. The medium deep seat and medium knee rolls will keep your legs securely in position. The slightly forward cut flaps could make this a VSD (very slightly dressage) saddle, however, this type of flap cut was very popular earlier on for dressage saddles, so we are not entirely sure. Regardless, this saddle is perfect for the rider doing mostly dressage/flat work, but will be secure enough that you can shorten your stirrups and hop over a few small jumps or large cavalettis every once in a while.
The size:
This is an 18" seat perfect for the average to slightly larger adult rider. The tree appears to be a medium wide, and measures 5.5" point to point. This saddle should fit well on a variety of average build horses with some withers.
The condition
: This is a used saddle in good condition. It may have normal signs of wear such as discolorations in the leather or small scratches or nics, but no rips or tears. The tree appears sound. Please look at all pictures carefully to see the condition of the saddle and form your own opinion. The leather is scuffed on the bottom of the left flap, see the picture showing the saddle from the underside. This is really not very noticeable, I only noticed when I looked at the pics.
